'FIXED' Boom Stand???

What does that mean exacly? I may be interested in purchasing this:

Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand w/Fixed Boom Black 2-Pack

Sku #582353000000000

However the stock photos are horrible in that they do not answer the deal breaking question.... Can the boom arm be adjusted? The item description says that the boom arm is not adjustable. Does that mean it is not telescopic? Or that is is welded to the grommet? A simple close up photo of the area of the boom stand that is 'FIXED' would be nice. As it is I have googled it again and again, then made an account here to ask all of you here at music123.

I ask because there are many other 'fixed' boom stands out there that do in fact have a boom arm that IS adjustable. A few examples are:

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ultimate-Support-PRO-T-F-Tripod-Mic-Stand-with-Fixed-Boom-106073919-i1448528.gc#

and

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/82328-REG/Atlas_Sound_PB15CH_PB15CH_Fixed_Length_34.html

Those items claim to be 'fixed' boom stands yet there is clearly a turn key (visible in the photos) to adjust the position of the boom arm.

Some have stated that 'fixed' means that the boom arm does not have telscoping abilities. So am I do believe that 'fixed' simply means non-telescoping or that the boom arm is welded to its grommet?

Re: 'FIXED' Boom Stand???

It is correct that this is not telescoping, however, you can adjust the angle of the arm and the overall height of the stand.  I hope that answers your question, if not, let me know!

Thank you,

Brendan
