Re: Show off your gear

What kind of neck pickup is that?  Looks like one nice tone moster of a LP you've got there.

The Last Gold Flake.  I love this bass.  Lane Poor pickup, graphite neck, build solidly and so beautifully ugly that it can make a sane man crazy and a happy man weep.

It's an Alnico 5 single coil. Super fat, punchy, and bites when I crank up my Fender Vibrolux to 10.

Here are some (not all) of my brass instruments.  I appear to be the odd man out with my keyboards and brass.....

Re: Show off your gear

Wow, nice rig, B! I see 9 Bbs, 2 Cs, 2 Cornets, a flugel...mellophone, double Horn, Bb/A pic, herald trumpet, and really long bugle. Let me guess, not G? Maybe C or even Bb? Do you ever take Herald to the bar for open mic jam night?

Cool stuff.

Wow, Rob, love that rig! The gold sparkle with painted headstock is delightful. Have you had any of the GKs in the repair shop yet? Just curious.

Re: Show off your gear

That long bugle was a gift from a friend of mine that he got on his trip to Russia.  The herald doesn't make it out much....maybe once a year for a 'themed dinner' at St. Mary's......2 of those Bb's are gone.  After the earthquake in Haiti, I felt bad that I had so many and those people had none, so I sent 2 of my Bb's down with a friend of mine that went down to rebuild a music school.
